Recliner 8-). AND swimming pool, dog walking, climbing lots of stairs,
occasional shoveling in winter, lawn in summer, and other exercise at home,
but no gym. Pretty healthy at 79

Yup; those fitness apps work for that kind of activity too, not just
exercise nuts.

Me too, at 71.

Yep. Despite the so-called "obesity epidemic", most people get enough
exercise doing normal, everyday things. There's no actual need to do
enforced gym exercise nor playing sports. Of course if you want to do
it, then that's your choice, but it has been "proven" that too much
exercise is bad for you.

It's similar to the myth of needing to drink "8 glasses of water"
everyday. Again, most people get enough water from their normal daily
eating and drinking, and drinking too much extra water is also bad for
you.

That depends on the individual. What is good for the goose is not necessary
for the gander. One should get a complete physical and exam before starting
any kind of exercise program, of course.

BTW: "Nutter gym bunnies" don't have to have knee replacements due to
standard exercise. It is either the results of continued trauma and/or
arthritic degeneration.

Again, depending upon several factors, Doctor Name...

As I said, "most", not "everyone". There are of course exceptions -
people undergoing rehabilitation after an accidnet, for example, may
need specific exercises rather than just going about their everyday
chores.

As well as a psychiatrict assessment. ;-)

I was including all "religious" exercise, like sports. Marathon
runners, for example, often hae issues later in life with their knee
and hip joints due to the over-exercise of their preferred tort... err,
"sport".

Again, as I said, "most", not "everyone" ... and drinking "8 glasses of
water" is definitely a myth.

I wasn't claiming to be a doctor, but in the past I have worked in the
sports industry and with sportspeople.

Sounds like me and Sherlock Holmes. Somebody freaked out one time

I can't say I've ever read Sherlock Holmes either, although I do have
an old "minibook" (about 1.5in square and about 1in thick) that
contains about three Sherlock stories. I have watched the two Benedict
Cumberbatch TV series though and waiting for the third ... the
Americanised version is rather silly and I gave up after about 10
minutes.

You must either be the Butcher or the Candlestick Maker since you're
obviously not the Baker.
