Men's Hockey, Semi-Finals

Canada 1

A real barn burner.

Gold medal game, Canada vs. Sweden, on Sunday.

Thw women's game played yesterday between CAN and USA was far more
exciting. 2-0 for USA with 3 minutes to go. Canada gets two to tie it
up, and then wins gold in overtime. Legendary game.

> Gold medal game, Canada vs. Sweden, on Sunday.

Bronze medal game Saturday, USA vs Finland.

Yes, I heard about that. I wanted to see it but forgot the time. I
understand the 2 squads really don't like each other and it was a very
physical game. What a cliff-hanger turn around!

Finland 5
USA 0

The US team must have thought they flew home after the Canada loss.
Finland has a good team, but 5-zip is just humiliating.

That puts me in a bind. I have friends in Canada and in Sweden, and Im
already under pressure on Facebook to pick a side. Love Canada, but
Sverige is the statistical underdog with just 1/3 of Canada's
population (as Canada was with just over 1/10 the U.S. population). "I

The Swedes don't need a gold medal, they already have their Saunas with
naked blue eyed long haired blonde females with perfect bodies. They
also have IKEA.

To an American, maybe. Chinese particle board and scrap metal is Chinese
particle board and scrap metal, no matter who brands it and sells it.

Well, crappy furniture-by-the-pound starts looking pretty shitty after a
couple of years, and we have several pieces of IKEA furniture that still
look fine after a couple of years. It is also considerably cheaper than
the crappy FBtP shops.

As for the Swedes, I see a lot of them in IKEA (I knew, because they're
speaking Swedish) shopping for stuff.

The one thing I have not been happy with from IKEA has been the oven,
which breaks every 60 days when we use the self-cleaning feature. We're
hoping eventually they'll get tired of fixing it and replace it.

(The fans are not designed to cool off the control board at 5280 feet
elevation during the cleaning cycle).

I didn't say they don't shop there out of necessity. I said ask them
what they think of the quality. ; )

Necessity? There's nothing you can get at IKEA that you can't get
somewhere else. This is a metro area of over 2.5 million people.

I didn't say they hated IKEA. I said IKEA is crap. Anyhow, we're going
in circles, and if you truly believe crap furniture is great, I'm not
going to try to convince you otherwise. : )

I never said it was great. I said it was "high quality crap".

Ok. I guess I'm not sure what that means.

It's more durable than similar quality (and price) stuff. It's also
much easier to assemble.

My high school aged kid has a large bookcase that doubles as a room
divider, a platform bed, and a bedside table from IKEA. The bookcase was
the hardest to assemble, and took me a little over an hour (not knowing
what the hell I was doing, I'm not a handyman). The bedside table was
$20, the bookcase was $150 and so was the bed.
