I'm on Mojave with my 2015 15" MBP (incidentally the best computer ever made)
and I'm thinking about going back to High Sierra because of the messed up font
rendering thing alone. Not really that interested in tossing two good external
displays just because Apple decided I should.

I'm sorry - the subpixel text rendering. Anyway, it makes text look like shite.
So there.

Hi Joacim

I don't understand your problem with external monitors, but I have found
this item which may be of help to you:-

Good luck! :-)

It's the subpixel text rendering (to please nospam) - basically, text on
non-retina screens will appear to be fussy. My eyesight is not the greatest
but I had zero issues with this when running High Sierra. I have tried to
enable font smoothing and also the terminal hacks but it's still not as good as
before.

It's not a news client - it's a BBS system.

I'm unfamiliar with what you are using Loacim, but, as you've been told,
it doesn't sit well with other newsreaders.

Have you tried Thunderbird? I quite like it - you might too! And it's
free - unless you wish to make a donation!

Here's a link to it: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-GB/
