It looks like it will be 1pm Eastern time today (10am California time).

The streaming link appears to be this:
 http://www.apple.com/live/

The (minor) catch is:
Apple’s live stream requires semi-recent Apple technology, i.e.,
“Live streaming video requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8
or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires
second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later".

Another catch is that the last streaming conference was flaky.

They're expected to showcase the watch & potentially a new MacBook Air.
I wonder if I should drive one town over to Cupertino to see if they'd
let me in.

:)

Since the presentation is taking place in San Francisco, going to
Cupertino won't do you any good.

Macwatch sounds too much like sasquatch
what will they call it
it seems retro to be making a watch

wonder what battery life's like and also about health issues of
GHz RF right next to skin
did FDA have to review/test it

It has to be exclusive and at least appear to be highly sought after
IOW they won't let you in

Since it isn't a medical device, the FDA would have no input on the
watch and it doesn't really know if can/wants to get involved with
health-related aps.

I'd expect a smart "watch" (strapped to your body) to have at least
two things different than a smart phone (in your pocket or purse).

1. It should be able to *measure* plenty of biological signals, and,
2. It needs to be waterproof (so you don't have to take it off all the time).

Also, it would need a decent input/output system; but I assume
Apple has thought of that with the GUI they showed at the last
live event.

with it on.

I'd like to be able to take a quick glance to see what the time is, too.
Yeah, I know, revolutionary concept -- a watch that tells time!

If it does that as well as the iPhone makes phone calls, you'll need a
real watch on your other wrist.

LOL.

I was watching the Apple live feed on my iPhone 6 while it was plugged
in and charging. During the showing of the Apple Watch they used "Hey
Siri".

Siri heard it on my iPhone and answered, interrupting the stream. Had
to reconnect :-)

My plugged-in phone bonged at the "Hey Siri" from my Apple TV.
(people with an Amazon Echo have had similar experiences with Alexa (the
Echo) responding to a show on TV when a similar name is mentioned. But she
responds verbally. Jeopardy was particularly amusing for someone.)

Imagine the problems Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes must have. ;-)

I often wonder: How does it feel to be completely full of shit? It's
gotta suck. I make phone calls on my iPhone without a single issue as I
have for numerous years, through several different models. And I'll
likely enjoy making calls with my future Apple Watch as well.

experience.

I don't have one at all (I don't have any smartphone, I have an
el-cheapo Virgin Mobile PAYG mobile phone). I was just basing it on old
jokes about iPhone call quality. I fully admit that they may be way out
of date, and they've gotten better now.

Even you should be able to work that out.

> He well may have ongoing problems that you don't experience.

But the FOS said that nospam would need the real watch, not that he would
himself.
