Odd. It won't install on my MBP.

Installed fine on mine. Although I don't use Mail.app, I figured I
should be up-to-date anyway.

Stay WELL clear of useless Yahoo's free email. The idiots insist that
you visit their webmail site regularly, despite providing POP / IMAP
access. If you don't visit the webmail site "often enough", they simply
cancel your account with absolutely no warning. X-(

I use the GMX free email for one of my accounts. No problems with that
via Eudora and POP access ... although the website was all in German
when I signed up, but there is now an English version at http://gmx.com
.

nonsense.

as long as you are actively using yahoo mail, whether it's an app or
the web site, it doesn't get cancelled.

only if you don't use it does it get cancelled, which isn't a problem
because you weren't using it.

<snip>

Thankfully I'm still using Eudora (Mac OS 10.2) and only have to use
Mail for one person who has a weird Windows PC that refuses to accept
Eudora attachments (nobody else using Windows has this issue).

Mail, even under Mac OS 10.5 has some strange bugs and quirks that are
annoying, not the least of which is that the so-called "Activity Window
/ Panel" rarely ever actually shows you what Mail is doing. :-\
