Well since you decided my suggestion wasn't going to work (because apparently you have to purchase software to install it with Crossover, but not with Parallels, VMWare, Virtual Box or Boot Camp)... ...I don't think I'll bother explaining how you could get what you want done, done.

"Send me the disk. I'll do an ISO, upload it to a dropbox like site
and give you the URL."
And, because you don't like me and will automatically refuse any and
all help and aid I offered, imagine that suggestion came from someone
you *do* like. I'm sure there must be someone out there.
Or you could always buy a PC for less than the cost of the original
CD or a Windows licence and learn how too do it yourself. It's not
rocket science and there are experts [and expert professionals like
me] who would help you learn how to run a Win-box. Just, not me. Not
at any price.

No shit. To say nothing of dumping massive amounts of tedium
upon a thread that does have a few useful articles in it.

But she doesn't have a cd drive.
Not one of the hundreds of Apple PCs she has ever bought has ever had
a CD drive.
So she *still* can't get the software onto her machines.
And here was I thinking she was clever.

Okay, so I'm violating my own promise never to try to help you
because you are such an irascible and easily irked person but: if it
don't work under MAc OS X it ain't likely to work under ChromeOS.
Now I will remove my disagreeable and odious presence from your

Borrow one for a CD/DVD to USB transfer? But optical USB drives were pretty cheap last time I looked, 25 bucks or so. -- Big Data is any data that is expensive to manage and hard to extract value from. -- Michael Franklin

They do that with Mac pirate software too (or simply say it is an application when it's really just malware). They also take legitimate "trial" versions and add malware, which people then download. Best to always get your downloads from a recognised source, if not the developers own website. > >> Even if it does come on a silver disc, you could pop it on a PC and > >> send it across to the real computer as an ISO. > > > > if I had a PC, I wouldn't need to run it on my Mac. > > Borrow one for a CD/DVD to USB transfer? You could try Windoze PCs at your local public library or Internet cafe ... but many of those places won't let you use removeable media due to malware worries.

As we discussed quite recently in these news groups, CNET does exactly that - they repackage installers to add toolbars and ad-ware to them. I recommend avoiding CNET at all costs. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. I often ignore posts from Google. Use a real news client instead. JR
