I just played all five level-2 hands on the online version of BM2000 (Thanks again, Barry, for pointing it out.); I got three of them correct on the first try, and two of them on the second. From everything I've read and been told about it, it's the best there is for play of the hand. Each hand is designed so there's only one correct play, and each hand illustrates a specific principle.

BM2000 forces you to take the best line to succeed. If you don't take the correct line, it moves defenders' cards around so that you'll go down. For instance, if there's a 2-way finesse, but the correct line involves not taking the finesse, the finesse will lose no matter which way you try it. > I would be happy to try out BM2000 if it does more than that. > > Create a BBO account. You can sample 5 hands at each difficulty level > for free. I had no problem with three hands at level 2, and got the other two right on the second try. I've done three hands at level 3; two of them, I had to have it show me the solution, but I had to do the third one only twice. If I had done all five level 2 exercises before playing today's 9:00 AM game, I would have made a contract that I went down 1 at, and we would have come in 2nd (or maybe tied for 2/3) instead of 3rd overall out of 15 pairs.
