Nonsense. It's a setting built-in to iTunes, and is trivial to change
the location.

Books (née iBooks) is the best eBook software for iOS by a long shot,
I've tried dozens, and I always go back to it. In fact, all my Kindle
books are converted to ePub so I can read them in the Books app.
