This command: "sysctl -a | grep file" kern.maxfiles = 12288 kern.maxfilesperproc = 10240 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ kern.corefile = /cores/core.%P kern.maxfiles: 12288 kern.maxfilesperproc: 10240 kern.corefile: /cores/core.%P kern.hibernatefile: /var/vm/sleepimage kern.num_files: 3565 vm.vm_page_filecache_min: 209715 This guy has a bit more to say on how to change the limits: <http://krypted.com/mac-os-x/maximum-files-in-mac-os-x/>
