So you don't actually know. You could have just said that instead of beating around the bush. Apple is clearly content to let its software quality decline gradually - why would it be unfair to assume the same about their hardware? Especially something that is expected to wear out anyway, and could lead to more sales in the future as a person simply replaces their "broken" computer.
