sudo can be far more dangerous than the GUI root user for those
inexperienced with the command line.

Consider this command to delete a stubborn folder:

sudo rm -rf /Users/Shared/stubborn-folder

...and this typo to the above with an additional space:

sudo rm -rf /Users /Shared/stubborn-folder

Whoops. Whole /Users folder deleted. That mistake is much less likely 
made, and much more easily undone, when using the GUI root user than 
than the command line.
