MSWD's for Mac RTF format handles both tables and images, but the Windows version doesn't handle images and styled tables made on a MSWD for Mac (or any other Mac app) when these are saved in RTF. To use Mac created RTF files with fully content it's just to rename to .doc and even styled tables are kept styled in MSWD for Windows... - The other way round - i.e. opening a formatted RTF file created with a Windows Word will always open correctly in both MSWD 2008/2011 for Mac as well as in NisusWriter Pro ver. 1,4 and later.
