I've been using a Kingston 8GB DataTraveler G3 for the past few years as a Mac OS X installer stick for various versions of OS X, up to and including Mac OS X 10.9, and no "stuffing" was involved. Each release fits just fine on it without any modification, and installation is *way* faster in operation than any CD/DVD/hard drive I've used in the past. My anecdotal evidence says there's no reason at all not to use an 8GB size if that's what you have available to you. If you don't have a stick, then I agree you should purchase the largest size you can afford. I see Kingston DataTravelers have come way down in price since I purchased mine. Amazon has the SE9 model at these price/size combinations at the moment: 8GB for $5.95: <http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digital-DataTraveler-DTSE9H-8GBZ/dp/B006W8U2MU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1394033472&sr=8-2&keywords=datatraveler> 16GB for $9.95: <http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digital-DataTraveler-DTSE9H-16GBZ/dp/B006W8U2WU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394033472&sr=8-3&keywords=datatraveler> 32GB for $16.95: <http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digital-DataTraveler-DTSE9H-32GBZ/dp/B00B4G2YXA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1394033472&sr=8-4&keywords=datatraveler> 64GB for $32.74: <http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digital-DataTraveler-DTSE9H-64GBET/dp/B00DYQYIZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394033472&sr=8-1&keywords=datatraveler> -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter.
