That makes absolutely no sense.

It's certainly not a signal about what's in store for the Apple TV set
top box.  Cook is too savvy to give any clues about whether an actual
TV set is in the pipeline; it's not any sort of signal about such a
device.

That has nothing to do with whether the Apple TV will receive
incremental improvements as with the 2 to the 3, or whether it will be
a replacement, as with the 1 to the 2.
