#28331 — OT: Yahoo hacked

I know this isn't exactly the best place for this question, but I
couldn't find any likely newsgroup and Yahoo is pretty much worthless.
My sister apparently had her account hacked. She can't get in it and
apparently someone changed the security questions, unless she forgot who
her favorite Uncle is. Because she set up the account years ago before
she had a smartphone, etc., there is no other phone number or email
account she had to let her know about the changes. She has looked around
for a number to call and place to email but hasn't been successful.
Anybody have a suggestion for getting around this and/or contacting
Yahoo and/or another Usenet group or other forum?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Gen up another one. It's not like they're expensive...

Looks like this is the place to start:

She tried that. Whoever hacked her changed the secret questions around.
Either that or she forgot her uncle's name...

Unfortunately, Yahoo email is notorious for security flaws and stolen
accounts (Google for details). I suggest she move her email to Fastmail
or one of the other reputable email service providers. There are several
good alternatives to choose from.

Don't use Yahoo. It's free and Yahoo doesn't care what happens to the
accounts.

Hijacked and fraud accounts are so frequent that I haven't accepted
Yahoo mail for years. That simple set blacklist rules is accurate about
99.995% of time, which is pretty hard to beat.

I will not see posts from astraweb, theremailer, dizum, or google
because they host Usenet flooders.
