Nope! The trollish OP in his/her fiendishly devious machinations,
cross-posted to piss off Windows & Mac users.

Exactly. The problem could be prevented if
people would remove the extra group that doesn't
apply to them before posting. The topic is worthy
of discussion, but there's nothing to be gained
from a Mac vs Windows battle.

That's not how Usenet works. People cross-post because they think that
the topic is relevant to more than one group. Removing a group from your
own precious wittle article is just a form of self-centered arrogance.

Windows 7? Really?

What's the matter with Windows 7? Well, I mean, granted it is Windows, but it
is easily the best version of Windows since Windows 2000, and that one was only
good if you had zero interest in things like games. So, over all, I'd say W7 is
the best version, full stop.

W10 isn't bad either, for Windows, but it is a bit in your face.

Currently I am running W8.1 <spit> on my MacBookPro because the printer
software I have for my 3D printer doesn't run under W10 and will not work in W8
under Virtual Box. I am using Putty to ssh to my one of my Macs to run slrn
which, like basically every UNIX program I've ever tried, compiles just fine
under OS X.

Of course, arguments are in room 12A, next door.

Mere rote refusal to accept the facts is *NOT* an argument. An
"argument" is a series of reasoned statements used to propose a
logical position or scenario.
 And they are not.
