Yep, "She who must be obeyed" is another of Arthur Daley's phrases for
his wife. :-)

There's a recent-ish new Sky TV channel here in New Zeland called
"Jones!" that plays old shows, including "Minder". I've been
re-watching some of the episodes - it's a bit weird seeing Dennis
Waterman young in that and then older in episodes of "New Tricks" (on a
different channel).

But he didn't originate it:

I liked that show too. I also read the H. Rider Haggard books as a lad
-- my grandfather thought that they were important reading for a young
man.

I was always surprised at how kind of dumpy and ordinary he was for a
"heart-throb" (which he was in England).

That's a kernel problem. It's supposed to page out idle processes and keep them
out until they receive a signal, etc. And maybe a windowserver problem if it
keeps a lot of local memory for invisible applications.

Do a ps -ajx. MacOSX like any unix has a ton of processes running at any time.

No.

I don't get driven crazy by the choices other people make even when I
know they are wrong.
