#21370 — How to find the SuperDuper schedule

Frommicky <NONONOmisc07@bigfoot.com>

SubjectHow to find the SuperDuper schedule
Message-ID<dnbmh9hp34ugqmbm0ha6b01u2pku6p21u6@4ax.com>
Related to my previous thread. But a specific topic.

My friend who had the problem with his mail on Thursday had bought
SuperDuper but that was 2 years ago and we can't remember what it was
scheduled to do. I click on SuperDuper and there isn't a menu. There
are 2 or 3 buttons that are greyed out, including Schedule. How I know
when it was scheduled to run and when it actually ran?

At one point on Thursday when I wasn't there or using Team Viewer, a box
came up that said the next scheduled run time was 9:30PM that day, but
is there no full schedule I could look at?

I don't use the schedule feature myself, but what's in Window >

I don't see "Scheduled Copies", only "Schedule" and that is greyed out
and clicking on it does nothing!!

I have the target drive disonnected now, so it won't be updated and the
problem spread to it if it hasn't already, but that shouldn't keep my
from seeing the schedule, right?

I believe the scheduling feature isn't available unless you've paid for
and registered the application.

Aha. You have to select a source and destination before the Schedule
button becomes available. ; )

Thanks. I'll try it** but I don't like it.

For example, what if there were already two destinations but the current
user didnt' know that. . He'd have to select a source and
destination and it would only show scheduled runs to that destination.
One might conclude that is all there is. . Should be able ot select
nothing and see what runs are scheduled, no matter what destination(s)
they have.

**Next time I have access to his computer.

"Scheduled Copies" is on the "Windows" menu at the top of the screen.
It's not something you'll find inside the SuperDuper window itself.

The "Schedule" button isn't active until you've specified a source and target
drive. Nothing will be written to the target drive ynless you specifivally
instruct SD to copy and even then, it will ask for conformation.

For what it's worth: as of version 2.7.2, SD no longer uses cron to schedule
backups. It now uses a launchdaemon plist file:
<com.shirtpocket.backupbytime.plist>

Good. Maybe I'll give it another go sometime then. Thanks for the info.
