#19133 — CopyPaste Pro / Mavericks

Fromgtr <xxx@yyy.zzz>
Date2013-10-31 11:30 -0700
SubjectCopyPaste Pro / Mavericks
Message-ID<2013103111303794350-xxx@yyyzzz>
I love this little utility that adds to a growing log of previous
pastes so one can copy many things individually and then go somewhere
after the fact and past them all in. And many other related copy/paste
tricks.

	http://plumamazing.com/mac/copypaste

So I'm dismayed that Mavericks seems to have broken it. Simply copy and
simply paste will not work at all while it is operative.

Quit and restart doesn't seem to help. Nothing helps. Yes, I've got
an email into their service crew, but so far no response. Seems they'd
a cut-and-paste response ready.

Anybody else using it?

This link references TextExpander but it may be the same issue you're
having with CopyPaste Pro?

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately when I get to the step where I'm to
enable (what would be) copypaste pro, it is not listed as textexpander
apparently is.

When I first installed Mavericks it brought up the Privacy/Acessibility
panel and told me that items needed to be adjusted. In my case those
were Little Snitch, KeyCue, Quickeys and QuickeysUserEventHelper.

I am thouroughly amazed that nobody is using this incredibly helpful
utility. I use it constantly and even I hardly make use of it's full
potential. There is a stop-gap version of it that won't do some obscure
things I don't do anyway which is available until they have it back in
top shape.

Still, very surprising it isn't known to all...

It causes a lot of Problems. I answer questions frequently on The
Microsoft Answers Forum for OfficeMac. There is reference made about
Copy/Paste at least a once a week and problems with Word often Serious
Issues. At least for the last two years.

It has conflicts with Microsoft programs? Fortunately I've managed to
eradicate my system of all MS apps. Where there non-MS difficulties or
system-related difficulties that it frequently presented?

By the way, the beta that I mention upstream has *not* yet corrected my
problem. Oh well, I'll probably have to wait until the release the
bona-fide Mavericks ready version.

I used to use something like it many years ago, and I have no idea what
it was, but I remember it being kind of flaky and, oddly enough, a
resource hog.

That said, two seconds with google found this:

<https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/copyclip-clipboard-history/id595191960?mt=12>

That do what you want?

(I haven't tried it)

Possibly, but not necessarily the "way I want to do it". The sweet
thing about CopyPast Pro is that you just keep hammering the "v" in
cmd-v and it steps back through your previous pastes. Additionally you
can archive serious of pastes, and myriad other options that I've never
used but always wanted to get with.

In any case, this utility has been around for a long time so I'm
willing to wait a while till they get it together for 10.9.

Thanks for the back-up though!

It's a vast also ran. One of the good/obnoxious things about it is
that your recent copies get hotkey'd with cmd-0 (most recent) through
cmd-9 (nine copies back). Unfortunately I use these keys for lots of
other things and the program doesn't allow re-assignment strategies.

But otherwise, it does what it says and it's free.

Hi!

I've been using that 'Pintware' since I don't remember when :-) and I
never had

any problems whatsoever with it. Currently I'm using it on an 2012 13'
MBA and an 2008 iMac

both running Mavericks.

I used to use something similar on Windows (and it didn't cost a dime).
But after a while it was just easier to think of a single thing in the
paste buffer so got out of the habit of using it.

I have gone back to CopyPaste Pro version 3.0 and it all seems to be working okay based on a few hours use. I have sent off a few queries to the developer regarding the problems with Mavericks and the latest version of CopyPaste Pro but have had no response as yet.

I hope the issues regarding mavericks are addressed because I think CopyPaste Pro is one of the most useful applications available for the Mac. It would be sad to see the app die from neglect.
