Just remember, the now defunct Pontiac, and the design machine at GM,
also came up with what has to be one of the ugliest vehicles known to
man. The Pontiac Aztek, which was made notorious as the tasteless set
of wheels driven by Walter White in Breaking Bad.

There was a list of the 20 Ugliest Cars published on CNN some years ago.
The Pontiac Aztek was firmly in second place.

The winner was the Citroen 2CV ... :-)

I can't believe the Gremlin didn't make the list. THAT was one butt-ugly
car. I read that Aztec owners just loved them in spite of their appearance.

It may have been on the list, in third through twentieth... I don't
remember the rest. I've two friends - one an Aztek owner, the other with a
nice maroon and black restored 2CV - and I sent them both the link to the
page. Got back: "Pfffttth!"

There is ugly in a nice way and there is damn ugly, the 2 might be
more the former, they seem to fetch big money!

The C4 sedan (like mine) is a nice car, but the station wagon is
*really* ugly.

I am coming to America, that where you are? I will pack some of the
many I must have lying about and leave them buried roughly where
Walter White buried his barrels of money in the desert of New Mexico,
also where maybe Hank is buried. I will give you the exact GPS
coordinates when I get there. Feel free to collect the cables.

You can use the old airmail arrows to point to the buried cables. Make
an interesting voyage of discovery for both you and Erilar. Find some
cables with Firewire on one end and USB on the other, for extra points.

A fine example of practical American.

Webpages are mainly text marked up in HTML, the "source" is the HTML
text and can be viewed often via View menu and View Source. I know you
know this part but I have to say it because a voice is telling me to.

Now and then, especially in demonstrating HTML tactics (tutorials), an
author needs to actually show on the webpage itself what HTML text
gets what effects, so there needs to be a way to sort of 'escape'
characters so that they appear as themselves rather than cause the
browser to do something it is usually supposed to do when it sees
those characters.

You can see the text in red and grey and green being surrounded by the
greater than and lesser than signs in the webpage proper but just
given references in the source:

<http://dorayme.netweaver.com.au/css2Pseudo.html>

To put this in plain English, if you retransubstantiate the synthetic
categories of the first linguistic level into an analytic
combobulation of third degree francansismos, you trick the browser
into doing what it does not normally like doing but without upsetting
it in any way, it is tolerant of this particular strategy.

In a typical home network it's either an Ethernet connection or a
wireless connection to a WiFi access point.

I take it you have no home network?

I've had a home network for years. My 80-year-old body objects strongly to
crawling around with a flashlight under the desk kneehole trying to sort
out the connections down there, though I know the Airport and cable
modem-or-whatever-it-is are connected to each other down there. After all,
I somehow connected them to each other when I updated the Airport Extreme a
very few years ago, before I messed up my back last summer.

If you have an Airport Extreme with WiFi enabled, you can share files
between computers without a cable.

My computers "see" each other but won't let one access the other,

Then you haven't enabled file sharing or don't have it configured
correctly. You haven't provided a single detail about how you have file
sharing configured, though. So I'll just point you to some documentation
showing how to do it:
