Just finished recovering my iMac HD.

iTunes won't sync with my iPhone.

- says "The iPhone "XYZ" could not be synced because this computer is no
longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone.

to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store
choose Store > Authorize This Computer."

So I do that, and it says: This computer is already authorized.

So I sync again and get the first message.

So I sign out and repeat the above. Same message.

So I de-authorize and repeat the above (add signing in and
re-authorizing) and I get the same message.

What have I missed?

In iTunes, go into Store > View Account
Click "Deauthorise All"
Then re-authorise individual computers.

Note that there is a time limit on this: you can't use "Deauthorize All"
again for about three months, if I remember right.

Didn't work. But thanks, didn't even see that option.

Could it be that my computer's name changed when I re-installed OS X?

(Was: "Alan's Mac" and is now "Alan's iMac".)

Was at 2, now at one. All is well...

I thought I recalled it as a year-- but I could be wrong. In either case
though, if you call and ask nicely with a plausible excuse (dumb noob
persona works well), they'll go ahead and reset it for you.

Maybe fixed. I had recovered (manually) the wrong library from my
external drive. Seems okay now with the exception of one app that won't
update correctly for "authorized" failures. (Google Earth).

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity (nothing personal - we
all do it). : )

Try deleting the app and re-installing it.

Waiting for a round tuit.
