#23015 — PDF unlocking utilities

SubjectPDF unlocking utilities

Can anyone recommend any pdf 'password recovery' / unlocking utilities from
personal use? I used to use one called PDF Key but that requires an older
version of Java runtime and I'd rather avoid that.

It's from an unknown developer, therefore can't be opened in Mavericks.

Which one? Several were listed on that page. Also, you *can* open it if
you want to - it's your computer, after all. Try to open it again, and
read the message displayed. Then go to System Preferences > Security &
Privacy > General, and you should see a message near the bottom similar
to this one, stating that you can open the application anyway if
desired:

Looking at your link, copied above, I thought you were pointing
specifically to PDFUnlock, the only one I downloaded.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am still in my first week using Mavericks.
I thought I was going to have to download it on my old computer running
OSX 10.6.8 I'll try to follow your directions after I close down Usenet.

No, I simply went to MacUpdate, searched for "unlock pdf", copied the
resulting search results page URL and pasted it to you. Figured I would
leave the rest to you.

That is not true.

Easiest way: right click and choose "Open"

You're probably right, but I followed JR's advice and it is already
opened. Thanks anyhow!
