I can hardly wait to find out what the OP's final conclusion was. It's
so exciting waiting for the first few years.

I don't get the reference to time.... ?

Nor has anyone talked about why one would want to convert FLAC to a
lesser format.

I'll explain: People frequently ask for a utility to accomplish a task,
say flac to "lesser format", and that's the end of the matter. I'd
like to find out what people eventually USE after gaining input and
making a selection. Just a hobby of mine called "unrequited
anticipation".

Because they want to. I do it for space consideration on my hard drive
and ease of usage through 5 or 6 different programs a number of which
won't accept flac.

The initial post by dorayme in this thread was made over a year ago:

In a subsequent post, dorayme indicated that FLAC files don't play in
QuickTime, which is why she wanted to convert them.

OIC.... The first post in the thread *that I could see* was very recent.
And now the purpose is also clear.
Thanks.

The poor dear old thing did say early on in reply to Gerry:

"When searching, as it happens, I tried to get the All2MP3 but it
would not download at the time. So I found something that seems to
work brilliantly enough for me, so quick and easy and batchy, called
... just a mo, where is it now? ... "MediaHuman Audio Converter". But
thanks and I will bear in mind these two you mention if I have any
qualms in the future about the one I have found."

Not a bad humanlike response for a thing like the OP?

I notice I have Max now on GTR's recommendation, and AV3 and Oatsie's
endorsement. When I solve a problem though (see above), I sometimes
don't get to explore other resources. But I do show appreciation, did
you lot not get the sheep, cows, pigs, and countless chickens I sent
you?

And it works extremely well (at least in QT 7); I've had it installed
for a number of years.

Yes, and as an added bonus it enables iTunes to play/convert FLAC files.
