Hi. Is there a way to set up Messages so I'll get notifications of
incoming messages even when Messages isn't running?

I think I did get such a message once, but I'm not sure.

I tried sending messages to myself using my IPod Touch, but I wasn't
notified of the messages on my Mac when I didn't have Messages running.
When I ran Messages, I did see them.

I also looked at the Notifications settings in System Preferences but I
couldn'f figure out if any of the options allowed me to get notiified
of messages when I'm not running Messages.

Thanks.

Sky

Yes, you can set that up with Notification Center.
