I posted my problem with multiple videos playing automatically at the
same time using Safari, v. 8.0.3 running Yosemite. Here is a URL (as
requested last time) where two videos begin to play at the same time:

I have ClickToFlash installed in Safari 8.0.3 and the videos on this
page do *not* play automatically.

In the Media Player tab, I have:

Default media player: HTML5
Initial behavior: Autoplay
Instant Autoplay: enabled

What do you have set in ClickToFlash?

I'm running the same version of Safari. Neither of the videos play
automatically. Perhaps you've installed a plug-in, which is causing
the disruptive behavior.

ClickToFlash is my only plugin.

Neither of those autoplays for me.

Do you have extensions to Safari installed?

None of them started to play automatically on my system. Yosemite
10.10.3 (Beta), Safari 8.0.4.

Since I'm the only person on the planet that has this problem or it
seems I have some setting in ClickToFlash set wrong, so here are my
settings:

General tab, options selected:

Show Flash source as tooltip
Use HTML5 media fallbacks

Control lists nothing selected

Media player tab, options selected:

Default media player HTML5
Show preview image
Default resolution: 1080p
Nonnative formats policy: Use only as a last resort
Initial behavior: Autoplay
Instant autoplay

Source Selector:
Include media sources
Include Flash
Include the video's web page
Include QuickTime Player

Thanks to all who have responded,

Gerry

The first thing to do is to turn off extensions and see what happens.

Also, if you have Flash installed, uninstall it.

> Initial behavior: Autoplay

And what do you think that setting does? I suspect it autoplays.

That might be related too.

I have both of those enabled and do not see any videos play
automatically.

Another data point:

I disabled all other extensions (including AdBlock, Blur, LastPass, and
UserCSS), restarted my browser with only ClickToFlash enabled, and
loaded the page, and even with both ClickToFlash Autoplay settings
mentioned above enabled, the videos did *not* play automatically, but
instead displayed the "HTML5" overlay.

This is with ClickToFlash version 3.0 installed.

I do not have these enabled:

Include the video's web page
Include QuickTime Player

When I view the aforementioned web page, this is what I see:

<http://i58.tinypic.com/15g48is.png>

Try those settings. And make sure the ClickToFlash extension is actually
*enabled*.

I also have AdBlock installed, and wonder if it may be preventing this
behavior on its own. You might try installing it as well to see if the
behavior changes:

After disabling it, I can confirm AdBlock is not responsible for
blocking the automatic play behavior.

(I still recommend you install and use AdBlock though, for a better
browsing experience.)

Thanks for the response. I've change the video's web page & QuickTime
Player settings and have added the AdBlock extension.

I'll report back if I continue to have the same automatic problem.

On Safari under 10.10.2 and 10.10.3b with no extensions the videos do
not autoplay on that NPR page. (checked 4 machines, too lazy to check more).
