A repair shop I haven't used before fixed an overheting problem.  However, they
pressed hard for another $85 to clean up "all the malware" running on my system
that was contributing to the problem.

I periodically run some malware detectors, but they are looking at files, not
processes. Is there something I can run to detact these "problems"?
