A company I worked for had *nix on a PDP-11, not exactly what Pop is going to pick up at Computer World. * in the late '70s Research Linux was free for educational institutions. Since this was Boston UNIX somehow slipped out the back door of places like MIT and wandered the streets looking for a home. Like many fugitives it adopted aliases, most of which ended in 'nix'.
