And, no more turning on the scroll feature by accident. Yes!!
Question about wireless connectivity though ...
Is there a way to setup my system such that
1) connectivity is mutually exclusive
[either wired or wireless connectivity; not both;
having both messed up my network once]
2) when wired connectivity is available, wireless is automatically disabled
3) when wired connectivity is "not" available, wireless is automatically
enabled
Would be nice to have some connectivity intelligence setup in order to
avoid having to manually enable/disable wireless connectivity.

Yes. This is achieved by plugging/unplugging your ethernet cable, and having your wireless configured properly. Or, can I just enable Adapter 2 and leave it that way? I was manually disabling wireless connectivity when not in use to avoid having both enabled and messing up my wired network, which happened once under Windows 7. Yes, I know ... Windoze. :-)

I generally use WICD as my networkmanager and it's out of the box set up such that it disables the existing connection when a new one is made.

My setup may be a little more complicated, I'm not sure. I use Windows XP guest OS via VBox/Ubuntu. The connectivity issues are usually with Windows VM. Ubuntu host seems to work fine.
