Hello,
The display on this Asus 12 inch netbook/laptop doesn't look right, even 
since it was new. The lines on web pages look very faint, and you can 
barely see where the boxes that you have to write in, for example.

There doesn't seem to be any contrast control in the Windows 7 control 
panel, nor on the keyboard.
I've tried the color calibration, but that doesn't seem to make any 
difference.

Any suggestions anyone?

I've just tried it. It looks OK there.
So what can I do about the laptop screen?

See if there is an updated display driver from Asus and/or try different display settings (1280X720 or 800X600).
