Aha... I recall those drivers now, and they are state of the art.

Was there ever an ABIOS disk driver for Windows 95? I know NT had one,
called, well, ABIOSDSK.SYS.

ABIOSDSK.386 should not be considered to be "high performance" just yet.
It does its fair share of double buffering to avoid the pitfalls of DMA.
