A /lot/ of stardew and Phoenix Wright. I actually managed to finish the
mainline and VS Layton. I'm currently playing thru the 3ds layton games

In this run?  Almost have all the walnuts on Ginger Island.  Somewhere 
in year 3 or maybe 4.

You don't have to learn everything. You pick a career path and learn
what you need to for that path. I don't recommend mining unless you
group up with others. It gets boring doing that solo. That was my
first mistake in EVE online. It was not my last.

As for grinding... well... it is an MMORPG.

I did do mining during training. Yep, boring. Ha. I just want to do quick fights!

I run missions for agents to get into combat. Not sure if that is the
best or quickest way to get into fights but it worked for me.

I played more last night. I finally passed a few more missions, and then got stuck again. I decided no more so I uninstalled and regained 15 GB! Now, I need a new PC game. Ha. :P

You just have to do it right.

I remember mining in a battleship, mining 7 asteroids simultaneously and
transferring the ore to a can which I then later moved then hauled in to
sell.   Since I only had to shift ore from hold to can every few
minutes, I watched a Season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer while I mined.

Other alternatives - a good book, or reading online news or whatever in
a non maximized browser so you could see when you needed to shift ore.

I quit because the missions are rough and there's only four of them, by 
difficulty.  Couldn't they have twisted it up some like Ultima does?

Based on what I think I know of your gaming preferences, I personally
never would have recommended this game to you. It requires too much of
your time and it is a slow paced game.

If you want to try another MMO in the future, give City of Heroes a
try on the Homecoming server. You *may* find that one more to your
liking.
