I found a disc image somewhere in the Net month's ago. And on HP's pages
some Firmware-tools for my model. But the Navigator CD seems valid for
all Netservers.

AFAIR is there an Installer on the Navigator-Disc who should set-up a
special Maintenance-Partition. Likewise to early compaqs. So far i
remember there are separate Programms on the Disk who can be saved to
Floppy from it.

> is it possible you still have that image disk ?

I have it, yes. It's called "TopTools Navigator M-Series Disc" or
similar. The image is named 'M.04.05.ISO' Did you looked for those keywords?

And maybe you will try some of the links stated here:
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Netservers/Download-the-HP-NetServer-Navigator-CD-Here-for-models-LC-LH-and/td-p/3759035

Most of them did not work for me but YMMV.

> is it possible for you to upload it ?

A whole Disk-image of 530 Megabytes? No, not with my
smallest-bandwith-of-the-world-Connection. 16 Kbit/sec. UL!

But i have to look around in my browser-history or otherwise if i can
find the source where i get it from. Will send it to you via PM then,
Sadly i wiped the whole history out, one day ago.

Wish you a happy new year.

Kay

no, my past experience was mainly with IBM PS/2 and Compaq "Smart Start" in
regards to big servers.
I do have a fair collection of those, yes I am a IT hoarder :-)
HP/Compaq include LH, Proliant, I would say maybe about 16 servers in all,
the majority has no caddies.
Gov. policy !.
also there is a Dell servers, mainly bought to harvest for parts, again no
HD caddies in them

sound like a broadband rip off stick !

thanks again for the PM, that link was quite interesting catch!
sadly most major IT brands going through a house cleanup, therefore is
getting harder to find support files for our vintage gear!

Sounds like me. :)

What's that? The Government has a policy against Drive-Caddies? Did you
mean the Trays to screw Harddisks in and slide them in the array-bays? I
know "Caddies" only from a few older Optical drives. Hard to form an
Array of Optical disks, so... :-)

I got one LC2k, three Proliants and some Rack cases for other Servers
and aquired Recently an incomplete LP1000r. Without Rails. :-(

On eBay there are plenty of this Drive-Trays found. For Proliants, Dell,
others, and for Netservers!

Was the other link to the italian site successful? I got it from there!

> sound like a broadband rip off stick !

No. It's ADSL but very limited to 384 kbit/sec.

Ah, so you got it from there. Fine.

Yes, it is. No one wants to pay for storing old files for old computers,
i guess.

yes, I still have them and 2 working IBM 1x scsii CD-rom ,
they remove the drives with tray mounting hardware attached, and hand them
in to the crushers

same for most of my HP/Compaq/Dell servers :-(
will make list of what I've got when I have the time to step into the IT
jungle

> No. It's ADSL but very limited to 384 kbit/sec.
that is very slow even for ADSL 1.

> Ah, so you got it from there. Fine.
yes, but still has not had the time to test.
