Anyone have ideas or opinions about what unit test framework to use and how to invoke the tests during a build? One problem I've discovered is that some unit test frameworks that depend on being able to run multiple processes will not work because the apple2 can't run multiple processes...

Come on guys. My world these days is all about agile, test-driven development, behavior-driven development, pair programming, code coverage, functional programming, domain specific languages, blah, blah, blah. Don't you guys have to put up with this crap too?

Add in 'scrum' and you have neatly enumerated the things that drove me to
retire from a software engineering career. When I code for vintage machines I
do it using the However I Damn Well Please methodology.

I don't imagine the OP would appreciate an Aztec C CP/M 80 cross-compiler
either... or Aztec C in general, but that methodology is pretty much also
HIDWP... and he would need to run it in DosBOX or XP in an MS-DOS window
etc. these days anyway so kind of unkind to even suggest that at this
time...

I felt like having a rant about Aztec C but almost resisted until I saw your
reference to HIDWP...

Regards,

Bill

One of the things I like about working for startups is that the infection rates for buzzword compliance are much lower.

Not anymore.

What are you trying to write in cc65? Have you done anything with it yet?

And are you writing for the Apple //e?

I usually just write my cc65 code in textpad, and then compile it in a
command window, deploy it using ciderpress and test it on AppleWin... and by
the way I work in Windows 10 lately although I still have other systems
around including Windows XP but no linux or OSX...

And admittedly it's been awhile. But I've been considering revisiting my
Apple2 stuff and having some fun this winter. Apple II Graphics and I have
some unfinished business.

Anyway post your questions in here after you do something...

Regards,

Bill
