Softdisk GS issue 3 had the bestest CDA text editor ever - QuickEdit. I think everyone saw that and gave up. Because it was just that good. Rats! It only works when GS/OS is active. (I've been looking for something that i can use when i'm mucking about in Applesoft.)

Brian, You may want to try using it with Roger Wagner's P8 CDA, which allows *some* CDA's to be accessible from ProDOS 8. IIRC, you set up a 'SYSTEM' directory in your root P8 boot volume, copy your CDA's to it, install the P8CDA.SYSTEM (or something similar) as your first SYSTEM file, and you're set. I did not know such a CDA existed but if it asks for GS/OS or P8, then read and write of files may be using the P16 - GS/OS file calls, hence would prevent one from using it in a 8-bit environment (ProDOS8 and friends). Is my assumption correct? Antoine

I don't know its specific need; but if i try to bring QuickEDIT up after launching BASIC.system from GS/OS, it says: Unable to run QuickEDIT Insufficient memory or GS/OS not active

Dave Lyons had a freeware Visit AppleSoft CDA so you could muck with Applesoft when you're in GS/OS. No... Disk commands, HGR, and HGR2 do not work. It's fairly small (1,536 bytes) so maybe someone could disassemble it and add in disk support.
