A while ago, I wrote implementations of several crypto algorithms for the 65816. These include AES encryption and decryption, plus the MD5, SHA-1, and SHA-256 hash algorithms. The core algorithms for each of these are written in carefully optimized assembly code, and they're easily the fastest implementations of any of these algorithms that I'm aware of on the IIgs. I've now packaged these up as libraries that can easily be used from ORCA/C or ORCA/M, and also (with suitable glue code) from other languages on the IIgs. I hope they may be useful for anyone who wants implement tools supporting the many network protocols and file formats that use these algorithms. The code and documentation are available on GitHub here: https://github.com/sheumann/65816-crypto The download with the ready-to-use libraries is on the releases page: https://github.com/sheumann/65816-crypto/releases The download package also includes implementations of the md5sum, sha1sum, and sha256sum file-checksumming utilities built using my library. These can be run under the ORCA shell or GNO. They can be useful for verifying the integrity of files as you move them around (including between the IIgs and modern systems). -- Stephen Heumann
