There is a list of DOS error codes on the Beagle Peeks and Pokes chart.

There is a list of DOS error codes on the Beagle Peeks and Pokes chart. Of course. The idea behind this fantasy is to avoid having to use ONERR GOTO, because it's messy and buggy. Of course, if i'm indulging in fantasy, i could have RESUME NEXT (go to the command AFTER the error occurred, instead of the command that caused it--which is tricky to make useful). But anyway, my fantasies are a digression. :)

That's not a command that I've ever had any reason to use. But, it sounds like you just found a use for it. ??? This is a great discussion. There's a lot of ideas here I never thought of. Probably because I was 16 when I wrote in Applesoft BASIC. But, still, I like the ideas. :-)

But, still, I like the ideas. :-) I wrote a program called NoteTaker that you might appreciate. http://mirrors.apple2.org.za/ftp.apple.asimov.net/unsorted/NoteTaker.zip It is more of screen editor, really. It is written mostly in applesoft, so easily modified. It has some advanced key features such as insert and delete rows, and scroll screen up and down. Haven't got back to it yet to do insert and delete character yet, which requires a little ML programming. You can also blank a page without affecting the other 9 pages. It can save up to 10 screens to a text file, and the text file can then be loaded into any word processor. Great for taking quick notes without leaving the Basic environment.

I love ASCII art. Although I'm more on the consumer side than the producer side. But, I can practice with this.
