Hello I finally got around to getting my Uthernet II going. I coded up a webserver... but the challenge was I did it entirely in Applesoft BASIC. It works; it's really slow though. http://www.deater.net/weave/vmwprod/apple2_eth/ Vince

That's pretty > darn cool. :-) My original plan was to have tried this in raw mac mode and handled TCP/IP too, but I think the packet copying overhead would have killed things. Though possibly if I call into assembly language for the copying things would be doable. But then again trying to parse raw ethernet frames in Applesoft without any bitwise logic or shift operators would be a pain. I was more impressed the floppy drives and floppies still worked, it's been about 10 years since I last used them. Vince

Just curious, what would happen if you compiled the Applesoft using the Einstein Basic compiler? It needs no runtime and the resulting binary is very fast. ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/images/programming/basic/EinsteinCompiler.zip Michael
