This message just to advise that a new version of the detection subroutine has been posted on my web site. The URL to download is http://bgilon.free.fr/apple2/CheckUII.zip This archive includes a PDF file listing the assembly output and a DOS 3.3 sectored ordered image of the Merlin 2.48 macro assembler which include the CHECKUII.S file. Changes from version published in original post are: a) Cards which support the Apple Smartport protocol are filtered out along with card supporting the Pascal firmware protocol also the AE Timemaster II H.O. and DII Interface card too are filtered out. b) Up yo two UII cards can be detected this way (useful in the context of one of my current projects); c) As I do not claim to be able to filter out every designed Apple peripheral card here, the subroutine caters for expansion placeholders where the user can include configuration data for his own Apple // peripheral card setting. Consult the source listing for further details on this topic. Thanks to David Finigan for providing some of the test results in his own configuration. Have fun, Benoît -- Growing old is mandatory.. growing up is optional.. But the other way round is as true.

Related to Apple 2 products, UII is an acronym for Uthernet II if one speaks of hardware products (this is the context of this thread), it would be a acronym for Ultima II if one speaks of software products. It would be a rock band brand if we talk about rock/pop music ;-). Benoît -- Growing old is mandatory.. growing up is optional.. But the other way round is as true.
