Hi all,

I have seen mention in old old posts about a version of Fortran (based on p-system) that was targeted for the IIGS. Has anyone ever seen this with their own eyes? Does anyone actually have a copy??

Thanks,
Paul

Yes and yes. Search archive.org for the cosmoza (or finapple) collection.
You can download UCSD Pascal, Modula 2 and Fortran.

Can you be more specific with the URL? I can find nothing relevant using the
archive.org search feature.

Thanks, but I still do not see anything on that page with the strings
"Fortran" or "modula 2" in the title. I must be missing something.

There's an item near the bottom that has a large number of images of disks. Some of the file names have "pascal" in the name.

I never used FORTRAN on the Apple so I have no idea if this is the
complete software or not. Feedback would be appreciated.

You can download them from the following URL

This is for the 8 bits, Paul MacMillan wants the Power System version for the //GS.

BTW if your SYSTEM.COMPILER is not patched, it will not work on a .DSK image.
The original check for a (fake) bad block, so it need to be on a .NIB image.

Marco - thanks! I did not know about the European collection -- it is vast! And indeed it has the Power Systems 16-bit UCSD Pascal and Fortran and Modula-2!!

I cannot however get past the initial Copyright screen on any of them -- at least on my Sweet 16 emulator, haven't tried them on a real GS yet.... do you know if they are known be good disk images? I tried under GS/OS 6.0.1 and under an older ProDOS 16 boot with same result.

(Maybe the Power Systems software waits for user to type a mysterious key before it proceeds....? I kind of doubt it though)

Never trust Sweet16 for true emulation, try with other emulators and my preference still goes to the real machine!

I'll have a look at the files soon,

It runs "fine" under Sweet16 here. As the disk has no system, one must boot from an OS image. Then execute PSYSTEM. Then I've pressed E or the other keys to "play" with the beast.

I am not a Fortran programmer, I do not have the manual, I cannot help further but it really seems to work fine,

I have a "fixed" version of FORT2: that does not require the .NIB, runs as a .DSK. as far as I know it was released into public domain so if anybody wants it give me a shout....
