So to recap from some of my previous posts, my cc65 project samples and
related documents are roughly organized as follows:
Docs - Root Directory - http://www.appleoldies.ca/cc65/docs/
Demos - Root Directory - http://www.appleoldies.ca/cc65/programs/
But read-on... Many links specific to these are listed further in this rant.
A PHP script automatically serves these. And yet I still get criticism for
my lack of documentation... so how many hours in a day do these
"tire-kickers" think I have anyway one wonders? These are in addition to my
Aztec C65 related work. My Aztec C65 work for the Apple II can of course be
found in one of two or 3 places: www.appleoldies.ca or www.aztecmuseum.ca or
www.cpm8680.com but this post is not really about my "old" work...
Today's average user would rather watch a youtube video than muck with
program code. From my view, C compilers and programming isn't really for
those armchair types, but just in case some of them want to follow along and
try some real things for themselves, I have provided some primitive videos
(without soundtrack) on my youtube channel to go along with my cc65 and
Apple II graphics conversion demos. Some of these are listed below along
with some other related articles, but these are by no means exhaustive of my
material on this or any other subject that I might chose to mention,
including the topic of graphics conversion and C compilers... and are in
addition to my recent previous post on "Solutions for extending cc65 with
Double-Resolution Apple II Graphics (links included)".

DHGR
Writing in C for the Apple II requires an entry-level combination skill-set
that is roughly equivalent to that of an AppleSoft BASIC programmer combined
with a general knowledge of the C programming language. Writing effectively
in any language for the Apple II's "hardware specific" features like DHGR
requires at least a working knowledge of the Apple II and some understanding
of 6502 assembly language (and the ability to "cut and paste" and modify and
merge example code into your own programs).

DLGR, DHGR Plus SHR
SHR graphics in will be covered in more detail in a separate post to follow.
Since the A2B converter includes support for DHGR as well as DLGR and SHR
these are listed below.

Disclaimer - Unkind comments will never get anyone anything from anybody who
is not lazy and actually does something. But if you have actually made an
effort to get my stuff to work for you (like Dagen Brock, Blake Patterson,
Stynx et al have done), and read the source code etc. and you are still lost
then send private mail. But I am loathe to say that any attempt at public
shaming will surely end without the results that might have been hoped
for... as we all know the centre of every "But" is void of enlightenment...
Enjoy and be kind to C programmers!
Regards,
Bill Buckels
