I need to put out the updated Uthernet II manual tomorrow, because that's got full coverage of this undocumented wraparound feature. You can advance the address pointer past $8000 but it's a mirror of the beginning of the address space, as you no doubt encountered in your tests. > > Given that using the W5100 with only a single socket results in > faster/smaller code I'm pretty unsure if there's a momentum to > actually implement/agree on the W5100 sharing between a driver being > part of the OS and and a foreground program running on the OS using > two sockets (as I described it in my previous post). > > What are your opinions, gents? It's hard to say, but I'm thinking about writing a tcplib that does three things: 1.) Provides a simplified interface to open and interact with up to 4 UDP or TCP sockets, 2.) Provides a DNS resolution service, 3.) Provides a DHCP client. 2 and 3 are essentially done at this point through my past efforts with the Marina project. 1 is fairly close. I have no time-frame for when I could complete this, but even having it going by March is not unrealistic, I think. -- ]DF$ The Marina IP stack for Apple II-- http://marina.a2hq.com/
