| Subject | Referencing ProDOS Error Messages in Memory |
| From | Bill Chatfield <billchatfield1@gmail.com> |
I hope I haven't asked this before... In the "online" program I wrote last year (https://github.com/gungwald/online), I included definitions of ProDOS error messages. But, it seems like these have to be in the ProDOS code which is already loaded into memory, so that I could reference them rather than defining them myself. Does anyone know where these might be in memory so that I can reference them, and/or how I would go about finding them? I feel like the AppleWin debugger might be helpful in finding them, if I could only understand how to use it. After repeated attempts, my brain doesn't seem to be able to comprehend the commands. These are the error messages as I have defined them: ERR27 ASC "I/O ERROR",00 ERR28 ASC "DEVICE NOT CONNECTED",00 ERR2E ASC "DISK SWITCHED: FILE STILL OPEN ON OTHER DISK",00 ERR45 ASC "VOLUME DIRECTORY NOT FOUND",00 ERR52 ASC "NOT A PRODOS DISK",00 ERR55 ASC "VOLUME CONTROL BLOCK FULL",00 ERR56 ASC "BAD BUFFER ADDRESS",00 ERR57 ASC "DUPLICATE VOLUME",00
