I have perl-5/8/8-1/zip installed on Iyonix 5.18.
It appears to be running OK, but I haven't used it much.
Have you had problems?

See http://www.cp15.org/programming/ if you have not found it already! I use it on the Iyonix as part of the Impact build process, and it functions fine. It's not got all the fancy RISC OS specific modules which Nicholas Clark's port had, but it suits my current purposes. -- Matthew Phillips Durham

The loss of the SWI module was a big disappointement to me. Alan -- RISC OS - you know it makes cents

It does not have the extensive module-libraries of Perl (or Python) but RiscLua does give you SWIs and iteration over directories. -- Gavin Wraith (gavin@wra1th.plus.com) Home page: http://www.wra1th.plus.com/

I am tempted by Lua, but in this case I've been govem a Perl program for displaying thumbnails of JFIFs. I am trying to modify that! You can see the output at http://www.Torrens.org.uk/Adrian/Photos/Prague/RichardT/ the program itself is http://www.Torrens.org.uk/Adrian/Photos/Prague/RichardT/index.cgi I have also included this Perl script in a <IFRAME> at http://www.Torrens.org.uk/NatHist/Czech_Flowers/index.html the script ther is http://www.Torrens.org.uk/NatHist/Czech_Flowers/index.cgi I don't think Lua can do this - but there are some graphic interfaces that can work with Lua. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Richard Torrens. NB Were you aware that your latest port of awk doesn't seem to be
Beagle-board compatible? Quick testing produces the confusing error
"mawk: bozo: bad cell passed to cellcpy()" at every attempt to call the
executable....
Fortunately Duncan Moore has gawk 3.1.7 compiled for 32-bit RISC OS at
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/duncan-moore/riscos/zip/gawk-3-1-7-ro1.zip
which is what I've been using on the ARMini.

Yes, I have been trying 5/8/8-1/zip but it crashes the Iyo. However the Iyo has just developed very serious problems with networking, so kis near useless. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Richard Torrens.
