Thanks for that. I was sure it had been the case at one time and it's nice
to know my memory wasn't completely faulty.

However the old advice still seems sensible (not to put a terminator on the
last line) as I can't see any  downside to doing so and there will still be
a lot of machines around with earlier OS versions.
