Followup: I have a Fritzbox router which does have a working phone
socket, so on Monday I changed my Plusnet broadband to SOGEA (ie
without phone). My old landline number was then ported to Andrews &
Arnold, which now seems to be working with VOIP and my old Gigaset
phones (4 wireless) over the internet after I got all the settings
correct.

So now we have broadband, phone, and email (Greenby) each from
different suppliers, but hopefully that will add flexibility rather
than cause problems. We shall see.
