Many thanks John, good to know I'm not missing something anyway.

I guess the work around is to specify each style explicitly; for
Ticks, FrameTicks (somewhat obscure for newer functions like
BarChart), Axes/Frame labels etc.

Roll on 8.0.2 (or 9.0.0 ;)
