Hello. Some stylesheets have a style named EquationNumbered (for the sake of definiteness, take the style sheet JournalArticle). I need to make some customizations to this style but I don't know how to do it. So what I'd like is to learn is how I can make a style like EquationNumbered from scratch. I am familiar with stylesheets and how I can modify such things as fonts and text sizes. What I still haven't figured out is how to set up the numbering. Thanks.

The short answer is to open the stylesheet such as the one you mentioned above and have a look at the way the numbered equation style is constructed. You'll see where to place counters etc. Mike
