Hi unknown JCW,

for me it is part of the so called "netiquette" to tell anyone I share 
my or her/his knowledge with  who I am. I do not meet people at the pub 
and say "Hi! I'm unknown! Who or what are you?" either.

  Regarding spam: I've got a filter [1]. If you are using Thunderbird or 
another mail client/news reader, have a look at the help site.
  AFAI can say most popular filters are almost equivalent. If you do not 
want to run one at your machine, I've got good experience with mail 
accounts at web.de and surprisingly yahoo and google {excellent spam 
filter!!}  (each: of these: http://mail. <enterprisename>.com).
