It's good to be reminded of the "Alt-click" selection trick (which I once knew, actually) -- thanks. But if you want to have to have two different versions of at least one and maybe several cell Styles (hide-able and non-hide-able versions), a more formal or programmatic approach may be easier to use -- and to remember between widely spaced uses of Mathematica.
