Sheila is building a community for algorithm lovers, too, on her Web 
site. And Pete over there? He's building a community for algorithm 
lovers on /his/ Web site. And Jenny, and Roger, and Sue? They're all 
building their own communities for algorithm lovers, on /their/ Web sites.

All of those communities are rather small, and are likely to remain so.

Diversity is a good thing, but societal fragmentation is not so good.
